Weather, weather, everywhere!!

Just a few words before we turn in. It's been a lllooonnnggg week and it's only Wednesday. Seattle has seen it all the past three days!


Prelude: Relaxing, uneventful Thanksgiving weekend spent fixing up and cleaning up around our new house (yay!) Eating turkey, pumpkin and pecan pie.

First Course: Power out at our house for 4 hours on Sunday. Freezing temperatures in a few inches of snow. Lights came back on before the firewood ran out.

Second Course: 3 hour-long slog home through the surprise snow storm on Monday afternoon. (The commute is usually 20-30 minutes.) Kathryn was in good spirits throughout the ordeal, letting Ward know, "This isn't our house, Daddy," and giggling.

Third Course: Didn't risk driving to work on Tuesday due to terrible driving conditions, then my car's wipers failed! Had to rent a car to drive to work on Wednesday. Had a whole day to play with Kathryn.

Dessert: We finally have our car back from repair in good condition and the outdoor temperature at our house finally broke 32 degrees! Only freezing rain falling now.

Postlude: A lesson to remember that God is good, and we are thankful for our happy family and good health.
