Magic Flute

I played in the Bellevue Opera production of the Magic Flute over the weekend. It was a terrific production. Our music director Karen Thomas was stellar. She was brilliant in getting everyone on task, and didn't make mistakes. The lead singers were excellent, a number of whom were finalists in regional NY Met competitions. Tamino, Pamina, Papageno, Papagena and "The Queen of the NIGHT" were all outstanding. The three boys (which were girls) also did a fine job. This late work by Mozart is wonderful music and was really a pleasure to play.
